Our approach is to enable the client's organization in the creation, implementation and/or oversight of a tailored, robust, engaged and focused system safety process that runs in parallel with the product design and development activities and is scaled appropriately to the project scope. Based on decades of experience with developing complex software-driven products primarily in the military aerospace application. We firmly believe many of these lessons and approaches are applicable to a broad range of products and need to evolve as new materials, processes and tools become available.
Our approach is based primarily on (but not limited to) MIL-STD-882E and is based on concepts and techniques developed and utilized while supporting multiple advanced military gas turbine product development programs operating in a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) environment.
Our services can be adapted for multiple levels of the organization (engineer, manager, executive), level of the procurement hierarchy (purchaser, contractor or regulator) from early concept development through regulatory approval in multiple industries (aviation, aerospace, marine, ground based applications, etc.).
Specific areas of concentration:
- Safety requirement tailoring, flowdown and traceability support (including software)
- Guiding and instructing the flight/system safety organization to how to provide independent oversight to include proactive and predictive safety hazard identification through all lifecycle stages of a product development program
- Encouraging full organizational engagement and "buy in" from senior leadership to design engineering teams and human factor specialists throughout the duration of the development system safety effort
- Developing and integrating the hazard tracking system into a model-based environment that facilitates and streamlines the coordination of safety data between different organizations, functions (including system safety analysis and leadership reporting) and regulatory approval
- Facilitate product transition to an operational/sustainment safety effort
